How Does Your
Membership Benefit Law Enforcement?
Death benefits to family of law enforcement professionals:
The members of the Committee provide direct financial
assistance to families of law enforcement professionals
who perish or who become seriously injured in the line
of duty. Our Committees evaluate the needs of the family
for any additional assistance such as may be appropriate.
Valor & Community Service Awards:
Our annual awards ceremony honors those who, in
the opinion of the awards Committee, have served the
community and law enforcement meritoriously, as well
as for community service and good works towards others.
Scholarship Awards:
Every year, the Scholarship Committee awards scholarships
to family members of law enforcement personnel who desire
to make a career in law enforcement. Scholarships for
continuing education are also available for those who
return to school for a degree relating to their work
in law enforcement. Special consideration is given to
children of law enforcement officers and personnel who
perish in the line of duty.
Appropriation Funds:
The Committee evaluates non-recurring requests for
funds from public safety agencies relative to the purchase
of special equipment and materials to help strengthen
job performance and to better protect the safety and
welfare of the citizens of New York and New Jersey.

careers in law enforcement at various New York and New Jersey College
Campuses.
