All members are expected to serve on one of the following committees.
Finance Committee: Responsible for overseeing the development of the annual budget, preparation of the annual report, and financial statements presented to the Executive Board Committee on a regular basis. Chairman of this committee serves as an officer on the Board of Directors.
By-Law Committee: Responsible for overseeing the Advisory Committee by-laws and advise the Executive Board on corrections or amendments
that may need to be addressed through Executive Board action. Chairman of this committee serves as an officer on the Board of Directors.
Membership Committee: Responsible
for recruiting new members and, overseeing the maintenance and updating of the membership database.
" Members
shall attend all sessions of the Executive Board
but will not have a voting privilege."
Legislative Committee: Responsible for providing updates to Advisory Committee and Executive Board members on relevant legislation affecting New York & New Jersey Law Enforcement and the Asian American community.
Cultural Committee: Responsible for developing
cultural competency programs for New York & New Jersey Law Enforcement regarding Asian cultures.
Legal Committee: Responsible for developing programs to assist Asian Americans in seeking legal advice, and understanding their rights with regards to New York and New Jersey Law Enforcement.
Law Enforcement Recruiting Committee: Responsible for developing programs to assist NY & NJ Law Enforcement agencies to recruit Asian Americans to serve.
Scholarship Committee: Responsible for selection of recipients of scholarship awards.
Events & Planning Committee: Responsible for the planning and execution of events as they are deemed necessary by the Executive Board. This may include such events as Golf Outings, High School essay contest, seminars, social events, gala dinner, etc. Subcommittees may be formed per events.
Valor & Community Service Award Committee: Responsible for selection of recipients of Valor and Community Service Awards.
Benefits Committee: Responsible for selection of recipients for benefits for the law enforcement personnel and their families who are injured or killed in the line of duty.
Steering Committee: A Steering Committee shall exist at the discretion of the Chairman and will be available for advice and consultation as needed.
