The New York • New Jersey Asian American Law Enforcement Advisory Committee (NY•NJAALEAC) was formed to promote
a mutual understanding between New York and New Jerseys Asian
American community and all state law enforcement agencies
as well as facilitate events that foster interaction
and awareness of the special needs of the Asian American
community.
The mission of the NY•NJAALEAC is to support direct financial
assistance to families of law enforcement officers who
die or are seriously injured in the line of duty operating
in the New York and New Jersey including local, State and
Federal agencies and Department.
The NY•NJAALEAC is proud to provide Scholarships Awards,
Valor & Community Service Awards, Special needs
Appropriation Funds, Community Education, and Law Enforcement
Recruiting all with the purpose to help strengthen the
Law Enforcement Community and to better protect the
safety and welfare of all of our citizens.
We are incorporated as a non-profit organization. Our
By Laws outline our goals:
To promote understanding between the Asian American
community and law enforcement agencies operating
in New York and New Jersey including local, State
and Federal agencies and departments.
To support educational interaction
between the Asian American community and the foregoing
law enforcement agencies and departments by way
of meetings, seminars, and symposiums at which
said agencies and departments may provide information
regarding issues that may impact the Asian American
community as well as educate the public regarding
the roles, duties and services of the respective
agencies.
To facilitate communication between
the Asian American community and the foregoing agencies
and departments with emphasis on the special needs
and cultural differences of the Asian American community.
To encourage, by way of meetings,
seminars and symposiums and a special annual career
day, the recruitment, hiring and advancement
by the foregoing agencies and departments, of any
qualified persons, of diverse cultural backgrounds,
including members of the Asian American community.
To support all law enforcement in
New York and New Jersey.
To support a scholarship program for family
members of law enforcement officers in need,
especially for children of officers and personnel
who perish in the line of duty.
To support an annual award ceremony for
those who have served the community and law
enforcement meritoriously, as well as for community
service and good works towards others. |
